Full Service Medical Billing
This usually starts with us facilitating the creation of billable claims from your EHR encounter data. We’re not just pushing buttons but actually review your claims before submitting them to flag coding inconsistencies or other possible reasons a claim may deny such as making sure the necessary modifiers are in place. Once “scrubbed”, we submit your claims to the appropriate payer through a qualified clearinghouse and we monitor the acceptance and rejection reports to make sure your claims are accepted. We then track the claim status through the processing cycle. We proactively research unpaid claims to determine why the claim is unpaid and what needs to happen in order to get the claim paid. We then take the appropriate corrective action which varies depending on the payer and the denial reason. This can include submitting a corrected claim, generating and submitting appeals and redeterminations, etc. Naturally, we make sure secondary and tertiary claims are billed when applicable.
We also handle all patient balance billing. We send patient statements every month and we proactively make outbound reminder calls to patients who are late in paying their balance due. We also accept inbound calls from your patients and facilitate their billing inquiries. We’ll take their credit card payments over the phone and even run the transaction using your merchant services vendor. We even have a complimentary online patient payment portal and a 24/7/365 telephone IVR so your patients can literally make credit or debit card payments any time of day or night, every day of the year.
Most of our clients have their mail come directly to us. We process their in-the-mail credit card payments, we get any paper checks to their bank, and we preserve scanned copies of all documentation on a highly secure, HIPAA-compliant website to which you’ll have 24/7/365 access.
Monthly Reports
We provide extensive monthly reports to our clients that are highly customizable. They provide meaningful and relevant data, by month and year-to-date, to help you gauge our performance and run an efficient and profitable practice. We even assist our clients with ad hoc data analyses. We’re always happy to assist our clients with their data needs.
Professional Counsel
You can also count on us for counsel and advice. We’ll let you know if we encounter any adverse trends or patterns or if we discover errors or coding deficiencies made by your staff. We routinely assist our clients with software changes or with findings solutions to other unmet needs.
EFTs
We assist our clients with enrolling for EFT (electronic funds transfer) payments with the insurance companies to include ERAs (electronic remittance advice).
Certified Coders
We have multiple certified coders on staff and often facilitate coding audits and just answering coding-related questions. We also offer credentialing or provider-enrollment services.
Help by the Hour
We have some clients who do their billing in-house and just need some help. Well, we can do that for you. This is often due to growth or the fact that the person doing the billing has other responsibilities.
With Flatirons Practice Management, you’re not required to outsource the entire revenue cycle management process. We can provide whatever assistance you need while working directly in whatever software you currently use.
You dictate the number of hours of help that you need, and you control in what way we’re helping you. We can work a list of denied claims, or post payments, or just about any task with which you need assistance. Because you control this, those tasks can change over time as your needs change.
The beauty of our "Help" model is that you define what help entails and you dictate the amount of help we’ll provide.
